About Alison Mary
Alison Sparrow is the founder and practitioner behind Alison Mary Aesthetics, a private aesthetics clinic in Taverham, Norwich.
I have worked within aesthetics and permanent makeup for more than 15 years, and every client who visits the clinic is personally assessed and treated by me.
Over the years my work has become increasingly specialised, with my current focus centred around anti-wrinkle treatment, dermal filler and facial rebalancing, lip enhancement, fractional CO₂ laser resurfacing and selected laser and energy-based treatments.
I work from a private garden clinic in Taverham, around 15 minutes from Norwich city centre, where appointments are one-to-one and treatment plans are created individually rather than passed between different practitioners.
This website is deliberately quite detailed because I want clients to understand who is treating them, how I think and what they can realistically expect before they ever walk through the door.
My Approach to Aesthetics
I run a results-driven clinic in Taverham, Norwich, and I am very choosy about what I offer.
I don't do treatments simply because they are fashionable, easy to sell or suddenly everywhere.
A lot of aesthetics is driven by what is quick, marketable and profitable. I take the opposite approach. I would rather offer fewer treatments, understand them properly and do them exceptionally well.
If I don't think something is genuinely going to make a worthwhile difference to your face or your skin, I will tell you.
My clients sometimes joke that I am "too honest", but that is rather the point. I would much rather you be slightly disappointed by what I tell you in a consultation than disappointed after spending money on the wrong treatment.
I also have very little patience for the amount of nonsense that exists within aesthetics. Clients are often sold treatments they did not really need, or treatments that were never realistically capable of producing the result they were promised, and I don't want to work like that.
My clinic is built around natural-looking results, proper treatment planning, science-led decision making and realistic expectations.
I work by three rules:

If I don't believe it works well enough, or the science does not justify it, I won't offer it.

If I wouldn't consider it worth spending my own time and money on, I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it to you. Where appropriate, I also use the treatments I offer on myself so I understand the experience, recovery and result from the client's side as well as the practitioner's.

If I wouldn't do it to my own mother, I won't do it to a client. That one speaks for itself.
Botox/Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Is One of My Core Specialisms
Anti-wrinkle treatment is one of the most misunderstood procedures in aesthetics. It is incredibly popular, which can make it look deceptively simple. It isn't.
Done well, it involves anatomy, muscle recruitment, dosing strategy, placement, balance, timing and understanding how the face moves as a system.
I study it relentlessly because it is one of those treatments where very small decisions can make a surprisingly large difference.
I don't believe in simply ticking off "three areas" and repeating the same pattern on everybody. I look at muscle strength, brow position, asymmetry and how different muscle groups interact before deciding how I want to treat the face.
And I will be honest, even after years of performing and studying it, anti-wrinkle treatment can still surprise you.
Faces don't read textbooks, muscle patterns vary, anatomy varies and tiny individual differences can affect how a result settles.
That is exactly why I place so much emphasis on assessment, judgement and appropriate review timing.
Good anti-wrinkle treatment isn't a template... it is judgement.
CO₂ Laser Is My Other Core Specialism
Fractional CO₂ is not a “salon laser facial.” It’s procedure-grade skin remodelling that relies on real wound healing, collagen change, and disciplined aftercare. I take it seriously, and I am very clear about what the treatment is doing, what level of intensity is appropriate and what it can and cannot realistically achieve.

My style is straightforward and science-led. I’ll always give you a clear recommendation based on your anatomy, your skin and your goals - and I’ll explain the reasoning, not just the “what”.
My role is to recommend the option I think best matches your anatomy, skin and goals, explain the reasoning and be clear about the limitations and risks.
So, if you want a practitioner who’ll tell you what you want to hear, I’m not for you. If you want the truth and the best plan, I am.
